How it works

  1. 01

    Open your file

DST, PES, JEF, EXP, VP3, HUS, XXX, PEC or U01. It's read on your device, not uploaded.

  2. 02

    Check it

See the design, its size and stitch count, whether it fits your hoop, and any stitching problems.

  3. 03

    Convert and download

Pick your machine's format, preview the result, and save it.

What comes across

Shown before you download

Always kept

  • Every stitch, in the same place and order
  • Trims, jumps and colour changes
  • Design size
  • Exact colours, into PES, VP3 and XXX

Depends on the format

  • DST and EXP store no colours, only where to change them
  • JEF picks the nearest Janome thread for each colour
  • DST writes trims as a short run of jumps

Questions

Is this embroidery file converter free?

Yes. Opening, checking and converting single files is free, with no account, no watermark and no limit on how many files you convert one after another.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Your browser reads and converts the file on your own device. We never receive it, and our analytics only record the format, never the file or its name.

Which formats can I convert to?

DST, PES, JEF, EXP, VP3 and XXX: the formats used by Tajima and commercial machines, Brother and Baby Lock, Janome, Melco and Bernina, Pfaff and Husqvarna Viking, and Singer.

Will converting change my design?

The stitches carry over exactly. What can change is colour: DST and EXP don't store colours, and JEF uses the nearest Janome thread. The converter tells you before you download.

Can I convert a JPG or PNG into an embroidery file?

Not here yet. Turning a picture into stitches is called digitising, and it's a different job from converting between machine formats.

Does it work on an iPad?

Yes. Save the file to the Files app, open this page in Safari and tap Choose a file.
